This review is from: Syma S107 / S107G Upgrade 3.7V Lithium Polymer 240 mah Battery for Remote Control Helicopter Helizone RC Firebird (Toy)
I can't tell you how much better this battery is than the original. The original battery worked for about three weeks and started dying. The S107 would stop and drop crashing all the time. The last time it died over the kitchen sink and it fell into a pot full of water. I turned it off and set a hair drying to let it dry for 15 minutes. It never flew properly after that.
I decided to buy a new battery ($9.99) to replace the original, and what a difference! It never looses contact with the remote (not once) and has way more power.
I followed the instructions and the battery fit snuggly back in place. It does move in a forward motion at all times, small price to pay for the enjoyment I get.
The price has gone up, but it's still worth it!

Don't consider installing this battery unless you are good with hand tools, soldering and feel like experimenting. This is not a 'drop in replacement' for the original battery on the S107. The battery is hard wired to the helicopter, so you have to cut wires and solder in the new battery. It is also slightly longer than the original. I chose to cut a notch in the canopy with a dremel tool to make space for it (ugly, but functional), also remove the small weight located up by the forward led. With the weight removed and the new battery installed the helicopter remains slightly heavy to the front giving the helicopter slight forward motion at all times, but just slight. Puting the weight on the tail fin solves the problem, but I'm not interested in adding any weight, so I live with the slight forward motion. The increased power and flight time is noticable however. You will notice the difference the first time you lift off. With the (optional) sculpted rear tail rotor prop and the...Read more

I actually ordered a 200 mah battery and the retailer shipped a 240 mah. Wow what a difference in this battery and the original! Right out of the package the heli flew for almost 10 minutes over several flights. It was a tight fit but I did not have to modify the canopy at all. My S107G has always had a slight backward drift which I attribute to the lack of a weight in the nose. Now it is perfectly balanced. I love it!
