This review is from: Syma S022 Big Chinook RC Helicopter Main Blades Set (Toy) I had to replace the original rotor blades on my teenager's S022 because of damage from crashing into some things.
These were easy to install, requiring only a small phillip's screwdriver to take out the old blade, then install the new. You get four blades total, two for the upper rotor, and two more for the lower rotor, plus the control balance above the upper rotor. One thing you will definitely want to keep in mind when replacing the rotors is to be sure to not put too much tension on the screw, or the blade won't freely rotate, and the copter will crash as a result. You want the screw tightened down to the point just before the blade stops swinging freely. One downside we have discovered with this particular copter is that you don't have to run it into anything to damage the blades, since the blades can collide with each other, especially when they are still spinning when it hits the ground, or when it drops and you give it more thrust, again the...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: = Durability: This review is from: Syma S022 Big Chinook RC Helicopter Main Blades Set (Toy) This is the first helicopter i've ever flown and it only took me about 15 min to learn how to hover and fly it. This is very durable as i've crashed it several times into walls floor ceiling and everything else. I am amazed that i have not broken the blades yet, they are damaged but it does not affect the flight at all. I would recommend this for lots of fun and entertainment. 1 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By MH (Bloomington, MN) - See all my reviews = Durability: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Syma S022 Big Chinook RC Helicopter Main Blades Set (Toy) I needed to order these after the first flight w/ the S022. I've owned 4 S107's and never had to replace a blade (wore them out in different ways). Cutting the power doesn't seem to help like with the S107...Too much torque??? Not sure. If you are ordering these, you already know that the S022 is a Squirrelly little copter. |
