This review is from: 31" RC HT-2879 Destroyer War Ship (Toy) Bought this as a gift to a family of three boys. The toy performs better than expected, moves rapidly and with assurance through the waters of a large community pool. The problem was that the boys ages 2,5 and 8 took the controller into the pool and shorted out the box. I had given this as a gift hence I did not have the instruction booklet and didn't know what to do when it got dipped in the pool. Also, certain parts (plastic) were clipped onto the frame, they needed to be cemented, they popped off during the trial run. Very seaworthy on our little pond. Easy to navigate after a couple of tries. After having it for a while I disassembled it and painted more to scale, it looks great as is but with a nice scale model like paint job it is even better.
The boat runs real well forward, reverse, left and right. There is no "throttle" just go or no go. The boat runs well in a small lake and does not get too upset if the water is not glass smooth. There is no steering trim adjustment so it may not run in a real straight line. It has a neat safety feature: the motors will not run unless the boat is in the water or some other form of conductor touching both propeller shafts. I found this out when bench testing the boat before I used it in...Read more |
