I bought this for my 4 year old this xmas. Now I know it says 12 and older, but the great thing about a rock crawler is it goes very slow so its perfect for a little kid to play and learn how to steer. The car is well made and even though it cost $300 I liked the idea if he breaks something on it you can order all replacement parts online.
You can completely customize this if you want and can get the 27T motor later on will make it go twice as fast. the slower speed is great for indoor use, BUT we have brought it outside and that's even more fun.
I did make new holes in the body to rise it up an extra 3/4" inch for better clearance around the body and wheels
. We ordered the 7.2 4800 maH batteries and that was a good choice. we have been running the car on and off for days and I haven't had to charge the battery. Also the receiver only take 4aa batteries NOT 8aa
