This prop shaft and gear assembly gets bent whenever you nose your plane into anything hard. They are easy to replace, even in the field. Have a couple stashed in your tool kit and they will come in really handy.
Be careful when you are handling the little nylon nut though. If you squeeze it too hard while screwing it onto the shaft, it will crush under the pressure of your pliers. If you have small fingers it's better to avoid pliers completely, and just screw it together with your fingers.
These are a good price, and i'm sure I'll be back to buy more..
