My son (3) got this RC toy for Christmas from Grandma, and he loves it. The wheels are large, and they get pretty good traction on any floor type. The two buttons (forward and backward) are very easy for younger children.

The only problem with this toy is that it just stops working. You have to nudge it or flip it over, and it starts working again. The car only runs for approximately 10 seconds before it stops. You constantly need to bump it to get it moving again. For a toy designed for a 3 year old to crash into things, it should be slightly more durable. Maybe we just got a dud - who knows?

We bought this for my son last Christmas. I and he were very excited about it since he really wanted a remote control car. This toy is perfect for inside use, in theory. The tires are soft and it doesn't hurt anything when it bumps around. It's pretty cool to switch between forward and reverse quickly and watch it flip over. If this car were made well, it would be a 5-star toy.

However, it has many problems. First off, the frequency it works on is used by many different things. In our house, it was a baby monitor. The effect of it was that it would limit the range of the car to only a few feet and sometimes interference would make the car act funny. Once we discovered what was causing the interference, we turned it off when the car was being used and it worked much better. Great fun for a short period of time. Then it just stopped working, and no, it was not a battery issue. My four-year-old son is so sad. The Tonka name used to mean a good, sturdy, reliable toy. I guess it doesn't mean that anymore.
