Product Review

Like the larger ParkZone T-28, the Ultra Micro Series T-28 has plenty of power for sport aerobatics and the same easy-going flight characteristics that made the original such a hit.

This is a real winner. I would recommend this over the micro P-51 for someone who is a beginner or who is just moving up from a three channel plane like the J-3 or Champ. I love my bigger T-28D and the micro is just as good if not better. I think after a flight or two on the reduced rates, even a beginner would find faster and more responsive controller settings a bit easier especially when doing rolls. On slower rates rolls go so slowly the plane tends to lose more altitude than usual in the process. With full rates and some positive aileron expo on my DX6i, the plane flies like a dream. My favorite part is that it takes off in a really straight line, which makes take-offs easier than with my micro P-51 or micro J-3. The Micro T-28 also lands very smoothly and easily as long as you leave some throttle on all the way to the ground. The plane flies inverted better than any of my others. It also flies very nicely at slow speeds. I did have to cut out a bit of the foam from the box so...Read more

We fly the Hobbyzone Champ, Parkzone Night Vapor, Radian, etc. My kids wanted a micro with ailerons. This plane fit the bill and was easy to bind with our DX6i transmitter.

As far as flying characteristics, the model is faster than the other two models, takes more space, can get away from you quicker, gets damaged more easily, really gets bounced around in wind over 1 mph, but it is a lot more fun to fly in open spaces. If you have a big open grass field, then no problems, worrying about the model flying out of your working area is not an issue. If you have a somewhat restricted back yard, then you might want to consider something like the Hobbyzone Champ.

As I previously mentioned, the model hits the ground harder and is just as fragile as other micros, mine fell out of the tree from 10 feet up, hit nose first and split the styrofoam body on both sides of the motor. It was east to fix but surprisingly easy to damage.

I'd say that this is "at...Read more

This is a handsome, great-handling, high-performance plane. It's very fast; too much for the beginner. It is difficult to handle in winds starting at 3 mph and up. It's very fragile, because it's made of brittle foam. A 3 mph gust of wind sent it diving onto grass, and the nose was badly cracked. It still flew taped up, but the foam was very much deformed, even from a gentle crash. The aileron and elevator travel is not enough, so make sure you adjust it to get as much travel as you can with your transmitter. The rudder travel is fine. There should be more up elevator when starting, and then adjust as needed. This is so that you prevent the plane from diving on the first hand launch. Because of insufficient aileron travel, it will refuse to do a complete roll, and will crash, so be careful! I wish they could have used the flexible foam instead of the brittle foam, which makes this plane very fragile and prone to fractures and compression damage. For beginners, look for another...Read more
