To get the long wheelbase of the Savage XL, the HPI designers developed all-new extended TVP (Twin Vertical Plate) chassis made from 3mm thick 6061 aluminum
The Savage XL features the Savage 3-speed transmission to get the most out of the huge torque from the K5.9 engine
Machined steel diff rings and #102692 Machined Bulletproof Diff Bevel gears are built to take the power of 5.9cc of nitro-burning mayhem
To make sure the servos have all the power they need and then some, we're throwing in an HPI 6 volt 1200mAh NiMH battery pack
With a curved rear-exhaust manifold directing exhaust gases to the polished aluminum 2-chamber tuned pipe, the specialized K5.9 exhaust system produces loads of horsepower that just demands to be used

Overall this is one of the best RC (Radio Control) Trucks on the market. It has Superb design and implementation. Rugged, easy to use, looks great and well though out. And an excellent owners manual. This is one of the larger 1/8 scale RC Trucks, same size as the CEN Racing Genesis but with slightly smaller tires (easily replaced). Compared to the CEN Genesis 1/8 Truck, everything about the HPI Savage XL is better. Including what may be the best customer service that I have dealt with in a long time.

Having a problem with any product is not unexpected, after all humans design and build this stuff and we all make mistakes. What separates HPI from the rest is how they handle a problem with their products. They have now raised the bar for Customer Service to where it should be for every company.
