Product Review

With the Pluma, the only thing between you and a full day of aerobatics is a few minutes of easy assembly on the bench. And once you re in the air, you ll discover all of the advantages of exclusive Pro-Formance foam construction. Ultra-light and wafer-thin, its power-to-weight ratio puts the entire aerobatic envelope at your command, from stately loops and rolls to hair-raising waterfalls and knife-edge loops.

Another reviewer complained that it's just a bunch of packing foam. He's both right and wrong.

This plane is NOT designed for someone new to RC flight. The product description is not very good as it does not tell you that the plane does not come with everything needed to get it into the air. To get it flying you will need to buy a number of things and know how to assemble a foam based model airplane. More specifically, you will need the following items.

1) An electric motor. The instructions suggest two different motors depending on where you want to fly.
2) An electronic speed controller for the motor.
3) A battery. Not just any battery either. One designed for RC planes.
4) A propeller. Different types are suggested because different props change the way it flies.
5) A radio transmitter and receiver. This plane is aimed at someone already into RC flying that probably already has a radio.
6) Foam safe CA glue.

I have two Great Planes ARF foamies and I have to say that G.P. kits are Very Complete, Very Well Thought Out & come with Very Good Instruction Manuals. All in all I would highly recommend Great Planes & Electrifly products to anyone interested in this low-cost area of RC flying. (just be sure to use foam safe glues!).

This is nothing but some stamped out packing material selling for a ridiculous price. No electric motor, no radio control.
