Terrible design, instructions worse,

Even IF you can understand the instructions, and even IF you can successfully put it together, there's no way these things will operate for any length of time.
I do not now any 8-11 year old that could assemble these. The instructions are vague pictures of what goes where, not how to do it, not why. I'm a former engineer and I had trouble guessing how to make the parts fit. The parts are not pre-fitted so you needs lots of force to make the screws work. The instructions are tiny and poorly printed, I needed to use a magnifying glass.
The design is so poor, and as another reviewer noted you need to fully disassemble both remote and tank to replace batteries. Add this to poor-quality parts and there's no way that the units survive more than a few battery cycles.
Forget about any educational value, it is non-existent.
This was my son's "big" birthday present, what a disappointment. Do not buy this toy.

I have put together lots of mechanical items and this product has a VERY BAD manual and I found the two PCB boards both had broken IR sensors on the boards. The person who wrote the manual obviously does not know how to WRITE a manual. There are no written instructions only very few pictures for construction. Very disapointed in the product

After having good luck with a number of Elenco toys I purchased two of these. When I opened the first box my grandkids and I found far too many small nearly invisible parts and the worst instruction manual ever created. illegible, faded black and white, nonsensical. I have no idea who this was designed for; I can't even give them away. Do not buy this product.
