Being out of RC since the roughly the year 2000, I picked up an ECX smash one day on a spontaneous stop at a hobby shop. I was told by the RC guy at the shop that the ECX Smash was well worth the $80 and would be a great choice for an inexpensive vehicle. I got it home and found it to be SEVERELY under powered with just the included 4.8v of the 4 AA cells. This would not do, as the truck struggled to get through the exposed frozen grass of this winter in Minnesota.

I went online and did a bit of research to find li-po batteries (I was last into the hobby when Ni-Cads were the standard with the emergence of Ni-Mh just starting) have taken the hobby over with their much lower weight, higher voltages and much higher mAh ratings. I looked for the biggest battery I could find to fit in the Smash. This Dynamite pack is certainly a snug fit, but it manages to get into the battery compartment easily enough.
