This review is from: Carbon Fiber Training Gear Set: BMCX/MSR (Toy) The BMSR was my first helo, and this training gear definitely saved wear and tear while I was learning. It broke, but I'm buying another. Since I haven't been using it, I broke several parts on the helo. 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: = Durability: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Carbon Fiber Training Gear Set: BMCX/MSR (Toy) The Blade mSR would definitely benefit from having training gear while learning to fly this advanced little heli. However, unfortunately, this training gear is too brittle to be effective. This training gear comes with four rods and a central hub. The rods themselves are very durable, as you would expect given they're built from carbon fiber. The central hub that they insert into is made out of cheap plastic and is the primary point of failure. After my first few flights with the training gear installed, one of the rods bent out of the hub. I thought that a fine solution would be to reinsert the rod and super-glue all rods into the hub. Everything held in place nicely for the first few flights after doing this, but after a light crash, the hub completely fractured into pieces and cannot be repaired. Instead of buying this, I recommend investing in some additional landing gear, since that seems to be one of the least durable parts of the otherwise...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By = Durability: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Carbon Fiber Training Gear Set: BMCX/MSR (Toy) The training gear is useful but it's really flimsy. The foam balls at the end of the sticks are not properly attached, so they keep falling off. If you're not careful you'll use the O rings as well if you lose the white balls.
The central part that holds the 4 sticks together is REALLY flimsy. I don't understand why this was not built out of two longer sticks, it would have been way more durable than the four rod design. I broke the central part the first day of use. That being said, the training gear is helpful if you don't want to break your helicopter when you learn to fly. Any training gear you'd build yourself would likely be heavier. |
