Everything has gone NiMh so NiCd is hard to find. I have a Wahl rechargable hair clipper. Wahl is a quality item but they arn't known for their batteries. The clipper take two regular AA rechargable batteries which is a nice feature. I've heard that in most cases you can interchange NiCd with NiMh batteries. I tried this but the NiMh batteries wouldn't hold a charge. I ordered these to replace the batteries in the clippers. They worked beautifully and hold a charge for an incredibly long time, much longer than the original. I was very satisfied.

Didn't last long at all and was way worse than any batteries I've EVER used!
So far so good,

I choose Ni-Cd because of its faster discharge rate. I use these for a battery operated fly swatter. It came with a rechargeable pack but it didn't have any smart charge/discharge ability. You need a charger that has a discharge option to avoid the "memory effect" associated with Ni-Cd. My fly swatter can still kill wasps and I always have another set ready to go. Once they start fading, I'll buy more. Ni-Cd's aren't meant to last forever.
