I was pleased by the level of detail. It is more toy like than the HT torpedo boat and Destroyer RC boats out there, but it still has impressive detail for a toy considering the size of the ship it appears to be modeled after. Some of the finer details break off easily but this does not affect the function of the boat. It looks very much like a Russian Kiev Class aircraft carrier ( or "aviation cruiser") in approximately 1/350 scale. My parents bought this toy for my young son from a market and were very disappointed when it seemed that it wouldn't work when they tested it (just by holding it in the air) and there was no way to return it as the merchant had moved on. The tip about the motors only working in the water was a lifesaver for us as my husband had pulled the thing to pieces trying to see why it wouldn't work, and was stumped. It was really only luck that he read this single review after searching the net for any info. That fact should definately be more clearly spelled out on the box (where the only instructions are printed) as the tiny 'chinglish' note about that feature is almost indecipherable. Our boat also lists and will have to be ballasted upright, but it seems to go alright other than that. Not the greatest thing but ok for what it is supposed to be. 3 of 4 people found the following review helpful: A Kid's Review = Durability: This review is from: 30" Challenger Warship Aircraft Carrier RC 1:275 Battleship R/C Model Boat (Toy) This boat I got for the pool and the label didnt lie when it said 49 mphs an hour it was fast and I like fast the shipping was not good at all though it took like 3 weeks but it was worth it I had little boats in the past that fell apart in no time but this is so tough and to the moms who are saying it's to big its reely smaller than you think so if you take my advice you should by it |
