I bought the Flying Dutchman as a gift for a 14-year-old grandson. It's a cute swimming pool toy -- zips around under radio control, and actually heels in the wind. The adults in the family seem to enjoy it more than the teenaged grandson. However, he's interested in robotics and remote control, so the Flying Dutchman helps in that regard. Overall a cute toy.

The first ship we received had trouble with one of the rudders. There was a little bit of trouble trying to figure out who was going to help us with it (seller or manufacturer). Ultimately the seller sent out another one as we were not able to contact the manufacturer. Once we got one that worked we had a great time with it and the dog enjoyed barking and chasing it around from the side of the pool.

I purchased this for my son's birthday in January. We pulled it out of the packaging, hooked it all up and went out to try it in the pool. It worked great... for about 3 mins, then it started to go in circles. I pulled it out of the water and one propeller was constantly on no mater what we did with the controls. I pulled the battery, dried it out and tried it again a day or two later with the same result. I emailed the company, shipped it back to them (which was almost half the cost of the boat), and sent them the tracking information. I got a confirmation they got the tracking information (in Feb) and I haven't heard from them since. I've emailed several times since and haven't received a replacement ship, a refund, or even an email saying they are working to get it to me! Very bad company. I won't be doing business with them again.
