My 9 year old son received this cool boat as a birthday gift from his grandparents a year ago. He has loved it. He charges up the rechargeable battery which it comes with (great for saving money on batteries!) The charge lasts about 30 minutes but it's 30 minutes of great fun. The real working water canons are an extra fun treat that he loves. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the rechargeable battery and the great fun; I'd give it 5 stars if it were a wee bit more durable looking (it's pretty cheap plastic). Caution: if your child comes up with the brilliant idea of hooking up a fishing line and a lure to it so that he can land a big fish and bring it back to the dock, tell him to forget it! My son tried it last week and yes, it worked...he caught a fish! But the fish quickly went under and pulled the boat down along with it. It looked just like a scene from the movie Titanic. The New Bright 18" Fire Rescue Boat is an accurate model of a Seattle Fire Rescue Boat,the Model/Toy is marked for San Francisco.It sails and turns great on a medium size pond. The water cannon works like on the real boat pumping up pond water. After a year and a half the controler failed. It was cheaper to go the New Bright web site and order a new 49 MHZ controler than repair the old one.Boat comes in 27 and 49 MHZ frequencies.I wish the sellers would list the frequency so a customer could buy two to operate at the same time. I would recommend this toy/model boat.Nate Goodman Salt Lake, Utah.

The remote control malfunctioned after one use and I am in the process of returning it. Since it was a gift to my grandson in a different town I am hoping that I get it returned in time to get a refund. I would strongly advise not to purchase this item. It is very poorly constructed. It is a waste of your money.
