Running on a standard 6-cell NiMH is no problem, motor gets vary warm to the touch with extended running (20min+). Short runs at higher voltage (aproximetly 12v) on a Traxxas XL-5 ESC resulted in excessive heat and caused the positive lead to desolder. This is not a problem with the product but more an issue of me being an abusive enduser. Usage in the correct operating parameters is quite acceptable. Product was very affordable.
Modified my ratings. Found out that not only had the positive lead become desoldered but one of the wind wires had also got caught by one of the magnetsand left a nice copper streak through the motor and ultimately rendered the motor unuseable. This could have been caused my my missuse, however, I have heard from others that have this same issue under norman usage.
