The Losi Desert truck is a racer's, and basher's dream! It handles extremely well through the entire powerband. The acceleration is linear, with no dead spots, or spikes in it's output. The tires are a good compromise for street and dirt, but it really shines on a dirt track, or backlot. Blasting full-throttle through bumps doesn't upset it, no matter the speed. The Losi Desert Truck comes with a brushed motor, so as expected, the top speed is about 35 MPH. That's with a 7-cell NiMh battery or a 5000 Mah 20C 7.4V LiPo battery aboard. This review is from: Team Losi 1/10 RTR RC Desert Truck (Toy) Bought this truck for my son for X-mas... his buddies have mostly Traxxas, but way more expensive.
This is a great entry level truck as far as we can see from using the heck out of it for a day! I researched and this truck seems to be well loved by nearly everyone (yes you need to buy battery and charger for almost any RC like this). Anyway the 3800 milliAmp Tenergy battery I bought off of Amazon works GREAT too! So far - loads of fun, good run time, fast enough to have a blast but not lose control, very durable (numerous jumps and crashes with no issues today)! How fun is it? My daughter is looking to buy one now... very cool! = Durability: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
